Synopsis

After ten years apart, a Scottish filmmaker tries to reconnect with her closest cousin. Once so similar, their paths were separated by war. As they piece together memories of Syria, they begin to wonder - ‘What happened to our family?’

Born in Damascus was developed through the Scottish Documentary Institute's Bridging the Gap talent initiative. The film has been featured along with 3 other Scotland-made shorts (The Bayview,  West Country and Prosopagnosia) in Edinburgh International Film Festival's Shorts: Bridging the Gap - MOBILE programme.
